KDSB Staring At Critical Housing Shortage

The Kenora District Services Board is taking another step to address the housing and homelessness issue.
The Board is looking at shaking up its Asset Management department and dedicating one individual to the housing portfolio.
That will give the KDSB two people working with the CAO on the critical issue.
Chair Barry Baltessen says there are huge waiting lists in several communities and people are stuck on those waiting lists for a lengthy period of time.
The issue once again came up this week when the Board received a letter from a Dryden resident who demanded more housing units for seniors.
