Keep The Oranges At Home

Canadian residents crossing into the United States this holiday season to visit family and friends are being reminded to keep the fruit at home.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says mandarin or “Christmas” oranges, along with lemons, limes and grapefruit are all banned from non-commercial import into the United States.

Area Port Director Mary Delaquis says it’s because of unseen diseases and pests they may carry.
