Kenora Child dies in Hospital

A 9 year old boy who choked while eating lunch Wednesday at King George 6th Public School in Kenora, has died.
Keewatin Patricia School Board Officials say he passed away this morning in the Tramua Unit of a London Hospital this morning with his family at his bedside.
Janet Wilkenson is the director of education with the public school board and says the student’s death has hit the staff and students hard.
He was flown by air ambulance Wednesday after being taken to Lake of the Woods memorial Hospital by EMT’s who attend to him at the school over the noon hour that day.
Crisis response teams are counselling staff & students & King George today & will continue to assist the school community next week.
The child’s name is not being made public out of respect for the family’s privacy.
