It’s Community Support Month and the District of Kenora Home for the Aged is trying to raise awareness of the services it provides.
Director of Community Support Services Lynn Moffatt says some of the programs they offer include Meals on Wheels, supportive housing, transportation, palliative care, adult day programming, responsive services, supportive housing and home maintenance.
Moffatt notes there are over a million seniors and people with disabilities across Ontario who rely on these kind of services.
Moffatt stresses a big push this month will be getting more community members involved.
