The City of Kenora is the latest regional community to allow private retail Cannabis stores in its community.
Dryden was one of the first to announce it will be open for business.
Kenora Mayor Dan Reynard says the passing of a resolution is just the first step.
Reynard says the city will work with whoever wishes to open a store.
“Now the onus will be on any entrepreneur. There’s a process they have to follow and they’ll go through the government to request those licenses. Our staff will then develop a policy in terms of where they can be located and what the business license fee will be”
Right now, the provincial government will only be allowing only 25 retail outlets across Ontario starting in April, because they want to make sure there is enough product to supply them.
