Abitibi Consolidated is going to be reviewing 4 of it’s
mills, two in Northwestern Ontario, and 2 in Newfoundland.
Kenora’s Newsprint mill is one of the mills being
examined for operating losses, and Mayor Dave Canfield
says the mill has a number of positive points going for it.

The announcement of the reviews came after the company’s
fourth quarter results were released yesterday.
Abitibi says the lost 108 million dollars in the final
quarter of last year, and net losses totalling 36 million
dollars.
