As expected, there is very emotional testimony at the Thunder Bay hearing of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
Anida Ross is the mother of 16 year old Delaine Copenace, whose body was found in Kenora in March of last year, and Ross believes her daughter’s death was no accident.
“I believe somebody hurt my baby…I don’t know how they can determine no foul play with all the discrepancies I have seen.”
Ross told the inquiry the reason’s for Delaine’s death, given to her by authorities, do not satisfy her.
She’s also disappointed an inquest was never held to look into her death.
