Kenora MP Bob Nault is welcoming a federal government move to split the Indigenous file.
The portfolio now has some more teeth with former Health Minister Jane Philpott taking over a new cabinet post of Indigenous Services.
Carolyn Bennett, who was the Indigenous and Northern Affairs Minister becomes the Minister of the new portfolio for Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs.
Nault says he looks forward to the positive direction they will set as the government works towards improving the lives of Indigenous people throughout the country.
Nault believes the cabinet shuffle will bring fresh perspectives.
