Kenora MP Calling For MMIWG Plan

The federal government is being urged to release its plan in dealing with the recommendations released last year by the Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

Kenora MP Eric Melillo made the request recently in the House of Commons.

He notes his riding has been one of the areas most affected.

“Over the past eight years, half of Ontario’s identified cases took place in the Kenora region.”

Melillo says he’s disappointed the government plans on sitting on the results of the final MMIWG report.
