Kenora MP Calls For Immediate Response On Youth Suicide Crisis

We need to stop talking about it and start taking immediate action.

That’s the feeling of Kenora MP Bob Nault regarding the issue of the youth suicide crisis on First Nation communities in Northern Ontario.

Nault says an action plan needs to be put forward.

He adds young people in the north need to feel that government’s understand what they need and how to deliver it.

Nault adds we need to build better relationships with the province regarding the health care system, and not let jurisdiction get in the way.

When Justin Trudeau was in Kenora last week, the Prime Minister stated there needs to be more mental health workers, psychologists and improved infrastructure in remote communities.
