Kenora MP Dedicates Window To Past Legacy

A stained glass window in at Parliament Hill in Ottawa is shining light on the residential schools legacy.
On Wednesday, Kenora MP Greg Rickford hosted a ceremony to remember the history of Aboriginal Peoples and how far the relationships have come.
Rickford says it’s an inspirational piece that is intended to move forward in a positive way and reflects hope, prosperity and healing.
He adds that it had some personal significance to him, considering he was part of negotiations and the signing of the Residential Schools Agreement.
A number of elders, including Alo White of Treaty Three, were also in Ottawa to take part in the occasion.
