Kenora MP Offers Preview On Throne Speech

Creating jobs, protecting the economy and protecting Canadian families.
Those are the three main priorities for the federal government as a new session of parliament begins this afternoon.
Minister of State for Science and Technology and FedNor Greg Rickford says you won’t see a lot of major spending.
The Kenora MP says the Throne Speech will strike a balance between job growth and fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Rickford notes FedNor funding will continue to flow in northwestern Ontario but he won’t say how much will be allocated for the regional economic program.
He adds another priority is helping scientists take their ideas to the marketplace.
