Kenora MP Reacts To Baird Resignation

He’s being hailed a political giant.
That’s the feeling of Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford in response to the unexpected resignation of Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird.
The Kenora MP says the government has big shoes to fill as Baird put Canada on the international stage in a couple of key areas.
Rickford calls Baird “a close friend and long time supporter of the Kenora riding.”
He says Baird was instrumental in ensuring the water quality of Lake of the Woods as well as the long term stability of the Experimental Lakes area.
Rickford says the announcement came as a huge surprise to everyone on Parliament Hill.
