The federal budget has several programs which should help northwestern Ontario.
That’s according to Kenora MP Bob Nault.
Nault says the budget has the most money ever announced for housing infrastructure, and believes that will help alleviate the homelessness situation in the region.
FedNor will still be getting a small down payment, but Nault also mentions that a lot of work remains making it a robust organization and part of the economic development engines.
Nault adds there is record funding for housing infrastructure and a promise to extend the power grid to 22 First Nations communities in the north.
