Kenora Police Service Budget #2

The Kenora Police Service is looking at a slight

increase in its 2008 budget.

Last year net expenditures totaled 4.2 million dollars,

and this year there is an increase of 7-thousand dollars.

Chief Dan Jorgenson says the draft financial document

does not include wage and benefit increases for staff.

Jorgenson adds they’ve been able to make a little extra

money by conducting criminal record checks.

To date the KPS has generated 33-thousand dollars

through the new initiative.
