Days after Dryden announced plans to head up a restructured recycling group for the region, the City of Kenora is taking its first step toward setting up its own recycling system.
The city is planning to buy a recycling truck at a cost of more than 140-thousand dollars.
A Kenora city councillor says the truck will be similar to the current recycling trucks used by NORA (Northwest Ontario Recycle Association), but expects it will run more efficiently.
Whether the city will actually operate the truck or have a private contractor do the work has yet to be decided.
