Unemployment Rises In Northwest

The unemployment rate in Northwestern Ontario has taken a jump by half a percentage point.
The March jobless rate was 7.0 percent, that is up from 6.5 percent in February.
Human Resources Canada says although the jump seems significant, the regional labour market was actually fairly calm.
HRDC credits the increase to more people entering the workforce with just a small number of people losing jobs.
