The Dryden Eagles came out on the short end in the battle of the top two teams in Girls High School Hockey.
The St. Thomas Aquinas Saints capitalized on their opportunities in a 4-2 win last night in Dryden.
Julia Jones and Calie Lappage scored for the Eagles.
The loss was the first in regular season play for Dryden.
The Girls return to the ice at home Thursday against Fort Frances.
Meantime, the Sioux North Warriors fell just short of their first win of the year, falling 4-3 to the Beaver Brae Broncos in Sioux Lookout.
