KMTS sells 807 Network Assets #2

The City of Kenora has approved the sale of its

telephone systems share of the regional 807 Network.

Thunder Bay Telephone payed 627-thousand dollars for

Kenora’s interest in the Microwave equipment and local

tower.

KMTS General Manager Dennis McCaffrey says they no

longer had a use for the 807 asset.

Thunder Bay, Dryden and Kenora teamed up for the 807

Network in 2001, and recently Tbay Tel announced it would

be competing against the smaller municipal owned companies.

McCaffrey says they couldn’t continue to partner with a

company competing against them.
