KPDSB Insists Fraser Report Is Misleading

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is downplaying the results of a recent Fraser Institute report on student achievement.
The report from the right-wing think tank rated the Board near the bottom of the list in Ontario.
Director of Education Sean Monteith says the results are misleading.
“Regrettably to report doesn’t identify or characterize true work and interaction of our staff and students. Unfortunately when you only look at a spread sheet you don’t see the faces of individuals that come to our school which his a very important part.”
Monteith went on to make an important point, “I wouldn’t know Mr. Cowley if I walked by him and I’m pretty confident in saying he wouldn’t know our schools.”
Monteith says Cowley’s comments are completely inconsistent and inaccurate with the actions students are achieving.
He notes the graduation rate is well above the provincial average.
Monteith is inviting author Peter Cowley to visit the area and see for himself what’s going on in area schools.
