Looking back at a recent signing of a memorandum of Understanding between the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation and the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.
The memorandum was signed last month at the Annual Chiefs Assembly in Timmins Ontario.
Director of Education Sean Monteith says it is a step in the right direction and is proving to be a catalyst to helping northern children in education.
He mentions that he’s never seen as much of a conversation around northwestern education as there is now.
Monteith also says the agreement helps highlight that improvements are needed for education in the far north.
