KWG Hoping To Form Partnership With Northern First Nation

The relationship between a northwestern Ontario First Nation and a major mining company is solidifying.

An official with KWG Resources says its working towards an equal partnership in the proposed Ring of Fire mining development with Marten Falls.

Moe Lavigne says a formal agreement could come after a planned visit to China next month to meet with railway officials there.

Lavigne says the company and First Nation leaders will make the trip to ask if the country is a willing buyer for the chromite.

He adds they are asking the Ontario government to guarantee a $1-billion loan if China shows an interest in taking part.
