Land Ambulance Calls On The Rise

The Kenora District Services Board has seen a dramatic increase in land ambulance calls.
The KDSB is reporting an 11% increase between 2013 and 2014 and officials don’t expect to buck the trend anytime soon.
Chief Administrative Officer Henry Wall says that has put pressure on the operation.
Wall says they continue to look at operations to ensure they are running effectively without effective the level of service.
A key reason behind the increased number of calls is non-emergency patient transfers, an issue the KDSB has been trying to resolve for years.
