The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is trying to gain control of a growing fire near North Spirit Lake First Nation.
The blaze is now listed at over 2,200 hectares in size but officials say its burning away from the remote northern community.
An air attack team has been assigned to the fire in an effort to get it under control.
Most of the region is currently under a high forest fire hazard.
There are 14-active fires burning in northwestern Ontario, 11 of which are listed as under control or being observed.
