Regional OPP Concerned With Increased Presence Of Crystal Meth

A warning from provincial police on the increased presence of crystal meth in the Kenora district.

Staff Sergeant Paul Van Bellinghem says it’s a growing problem and they need as many agencies as possible to help out.

Van Bellinghem stresses it’s a social issue, noting police have to work with service providers and communities on education and harm reduction strategies to address the growing problem.

He says the problem isn’t going to go away on its own and will likely get worse.

Van Bellinghem notes crystal meth is having a devastating effect on individual’s health and community well-being.
