Talks between the provincial government and the Ontario Public Service Employees union are set to resume Friday in a bid to avert a strike by 6,000 correction and parole workers.
The unionized staff will be in a legal strike position just after midnight on Sunday.
Correctional service workers rejected the last government offer back in December.
Both sides will be meeting with a mediator to try and reach a settlement.
The labour dispute would impact operations at jails in Kenora and Thunder Bay.
