The case of a man who was caught in Northwestern Ontario and charged with confining and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy in Nova Scotia has been delayed while Nova Scotia Legal Aid looks for a private lawyer to represent him.
David James Leblanc appeared today in Bridgewater provincial court, three weeks after he was arrested on a remote logging road near Geraldton.
Legal Aid lawyer Barry Whynot says a conflict of interest limits their ability to represent the accused.
He appeared to be in better health but still wore bandages on his frostbitten feet.
The 47-year-old faces seven charges, including sexual assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement and administering a noxious substance.
The case has been put off until November 14th.
