Legal Aid lawyers across Ontario are looking for help from Premier Kathleen Wynne.
They’re looking for the right to collectively bargain with Legal Aid Ontario.
Lawyer Gillian Rogin says a need for a stronger say into the policies effecting their clients is the main reason.
Rogin says 80% of lawyers across the province have signed a petition asking the agency to voluntarily accept its wishes.
Rogin says Legal Aid Ontario has so far denied its request to accept their wishes.
Legal Aid Ontario says there’s no precedent for lawyers to be represented by what they call a trade-union, a claim disputed by Rogin.
