Leslie Dell Park

In loving memory of Leslie Park, age 88 years, who died peacefully at his residence on Sunday, April 2nd following a lengthy illness. Born October 10, 1917 in Antler, Saskatchewan to Alyss and Dell Park, Leslie lived in Saskatchewan and Manitoba until the spring of 1932 when his family moved to the Eton-Rugby area. He joined the Lake Superior Regiment in July of 1940 and prior to going overseas he married Irene Stovel January 15, 1942. Leslie served in Europe from August of 1942 returning to Canada as part of the demobilization in April of 1946 with the rank of Sargeant. Les Park is survived by his wife Irene, his sons: Dell (Wanda) Park of Dryden and Kenneth Park of Toronto, by 2 grandchildren: Laurie (Richard) McCarthy and Karen (Martin) Kudlacek of Dryden, by his 3 great-grandchildren: Sarah McCarthy, Michaela McCarthy and Brianne Kudlacek and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Bruce Park. A Veteran’s funeral service for Leslie Park will be held Thursday, April 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the Stevens Funeral Homes “Moffat Chapel” with Legion Chaplain Mary Mennell officiating. Interment will follow in the Dryden Cemetery. Visitation will take place Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Moffat Chapel.
