The Liberal candidate in Kenora-Rainy River is touting the McGuinty
Government’s Northern Ontario platform.
The Grits are promising an additional $40-million for the
Northern Heritage Fund as well as more jobs, research opportunities and
better health care.
Mike Wood says the platform contains several exciting initiatives for local
residents.
Wood adds he looks forward to speaking with NDP Leader Howard Hampton
on electricity and its impact on the forest sector.
He says the Liberals are looking at reducing the need for electricty
through co-generation projects which have allowed area mills to remain open.
