Liberal Leader on Aboriginal Inquiry

Premier Dalton McGuinty isn’t ruling out an inquiry into the
deaths of seven aboriginal youth who died under similar
circumstances while attending school in Thunder Bay.
First Nations leaders have called on the government to launch an inquiry, but McGuinty says it’s too soon.
He says the Federal and Provincial Governments and First Nations representatives need find the best way to come to grips with the tragedy.
The Liberal leader says that may ultimately lead to an inquiry and he’s not ruling it out.
But Nishnawbe-Aski Nation is rejecting the offer, saying no
amount of meetings will allow for full scrutiny of all seven deaths since 2000.
