Library North #1 (Has audio-I emailed it.)

The Ministry of Culture has reduced funding for Ontario

Library Services North, causing the board of directors to

close it’s Thunder Bay office.

Charlotte Monardo is the National Representative of the

Canadian Union of Public Employees, and says it’s

impossible to maintain a high level of service with only

Sudbury’s office being open.

Monardo adds it’s hardly fair that Thunder Bay has lost

it’s office of four employees, while Sudbury has been given

an increase in staff and management.

The Ontario Library North looks after 135 Libraries, 35

of which serve first nation communities.
