Two hundred and thirty eight thousand dollars in
provincial funding has been shaved off of the Ontario
Library Services North Budget.
Thunder Bay’s office which caters to libraries in the
west region has been closed, resulting in the loss of four
full time jobs.
National Representative of the Canadian Union of Public
Employees Charlotte Monardo says the remaining office in
Sudbury simply can not offer the same services Thunder Bay
did.

The Ontario Library Services Board looks after 135
libraries, 35 of which serve first nation communities.
