The hopes of renovating the Dryden Memorial Arena lie in the hands of the Federal Government and the Build Canada Fund.
The City has completed its application for the recreation infrastructure fund and the Arena project was left off the list.
The top priority was lighting the Sandy Beach Ball Diamonds, followed by upgrades to the Soccer pitch and trail redevelopment.
Dryden staff already submitted a funding application for the Arena under the Build Canada Fund but hasn’t heard back from the Government.
Councilor Brian Collins says not including the project in the recreation infrastructure fund is a big mistake.
However, Council still accepted the wish-list by a 3-2 margin.
