Residents of a Dryden neighbourhood were startled Monday afternoon after a lightning bolt hit a cement curb on Elizabeth Avenue, between Duke and Arthur Streets.
Crews from the gas and telephone companies are still on the scene today repairing the damage.
Dryden City Engineer Brad Johns says fortunately crews were on site quickly to deal with any potential problems.
No one was hurt although at least one home received some damage.
The lightning strike caused a quick interruption of power in the city yesterday afternoon.
