The Ontario Forest Industry Association is concerned
about the Canadian and United States Government’s new
softwood lumber deal.
President Jamie Lim says despite both sides signing the
contract, the softwood lumber dispute is far from over.
Lim says they would like to see a more commercial deal.

B.C. and Quebec have stated they are considering
continuing their softwood lumber litigation, which would
cancel the deal reached on Canada Day.
Lim adds they’re meeting with all stakeholders this week
to consider Ontario’s next step.
