Increasing membership is priority one for the new Lion’s district governor for clubs in northwestern Ontario and northeastern Minnesota.
Bill Michl of Fort Frances plans to visit all of the 44 clubs in the district by the end of the year.
He wants to see them initiate membership drives and recruit more young people.
Michl admits they are in trouble membership wise and says the goal is to have at least 1,250 members in the district over the next year.
Michl says the service club has made it easier and more flexible to join.
