A northwestern Ontario resident has been elected as the new president of the Metis Nation of Ontario.
Gary Lipinski from Fort Frances was acclaimed as president during elections that took place earlier this week.
He takes over from long-time president, Tony Belcourt, who decided no to run again.
Lipinski is the past-chair of the Metis Nation of Ontario.
