It was a day of fun and learning for boys and girls in the Dryden area Summer Literacy Program.
The students went on a field trip to Egli’s Sheep Farm where they were able to see animals and learn about them.
Teacher Aleea Khan says the kids will write about their experience when they return to the classroom, and this is what helps boost their literacy.
“Children who can write about what they’ve actually done themselves, we get more out of them. Therefore, they get to read what they’ve written, which helps their skills, and even better they get to read what they wrote.”
Khan says their theme this week is farms and farm animals.
The kids went on a wagon ride to see the different animals, including donkeys, alpaca’s, elk and more.
