Providing local food here at home!
The Cloverbelt Local Food Co-operative officially unveiled the opening of its new Greenhouse at the Dryden Fairgrounds on Saturday.
President Jenn Springett says the area suffers from a shortage of supply as the demand for local food is greater than what is currently being produced.
Springett says the facility will allow for the production of local food for the sale on their on-line market, helping over 600-households who are currently signed up.
She adds they are also trying to get more young people involved in the growing of local food through an education campaign.
The Co-operative has hired Chelsea Szachury as the Education Coordinator.
