Saturday is International Transgender Day of Visibility, and Rainbow Alliance Dryden is celebrating the day to launch an awareness campaign.
Spokesperson Tiffany Thompson says they are encouraging local residents to pick-up a ribbon and wear them in support of the area Transgender community.
Thompson believes that in smaller communities such as Dryden, visibility isn’t as present as in larger cities.
That’s why she says it’s important to raise awareness in support of Transgender individuals, in order to help them feel more safe and comfortable being who they are.
The free ribbons are available at several Dryden businesses and organizations and you are asked to wear them throughout the next week.
Participating locations:

Lokah Sanga Yoga
