The Region’s Chief Medical Officer of Health says he’s not opposed to a plan by the Provincial Government to create local Health Integration Networks.
They would include Health Agencies such as Councils, Community Care Access Centres and Health Units to plan, co-ordinate and fund health services for the Region.
Dr. Pete Sarsfield says he’s concerned the Network will extend all the way from the Manitoba border to White River.
Sarsfield says that area is unmanageable.
The Government says a total of 14 local Health Networks will be created across Ontario.
