Local MPP Congratulates Shawn Atleo

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell is congratulating Shawn Atleo in his victory as grand chief of the Assembly of First Nations.
Campbell is the Ontario NDP’s Aboriginal Affairs Critic and says she looks forward to working with him on the challenges that face First Nation communities in the province.
She says the NDP caucus remains committed to fighting for real consultation with First Nations and maximising training and employment opportunities in resource development.
Atleo beat out seven other contenders for the title of national chief, including former Treaty Three grand chief Diane Kelly.
