Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell says the latest budget is not a good one for Northwestern Ontario.
Campbell believes the $11.5-billion in new funding for health care isn’t all what it’s cracked up to be.
She calls the commitment “woefully inadequate”.
Campbell notes all the government is doing is pinning hospital funding to the rate of annual inflation.
She says after nine years of cuts to hospital budgets, the Wynne government still isn’t doing anything to fix the problems they created.
Campbell says cuts to special education and the geographic circumstances grant is also a big down fall for local residents.
She adds Ontario is at a tipping point and it’s getting harder and harder to build a good life and get ahead.
