Local OPP Officer Promoting Drinking And Driving Awareness Intitiatives

A Sergeant with the Provincial Police in Dryden and Ignace believes impaired driving rates in our area are on the decline.

Michelle Teeple recently received provincial and local recognition for her efforts to curb drinking and driving.

However, Teeple says its a community effort.

Teeple credits the LCBO for expanding their colouring on their liquor bags and displaying it so there’s conversations among younger students.

She says the Health Unit has promoted the “Ask, Listen and Learn” on-line program that allows parents to be able to have the conversation with their child about some of the issues around under age drinking.

Teeple was a featured on Northwest Monitor on Sunday.
