Local Players Lead Lakehead University To U.S. National Championship

The Lakehead University Thunderwolves Women’s Hockey team are U.S. national champions.

Dryden’s Liv Carter scored the winning goal as Thunder Bay defeated North Dakota State University 3-1 in the U.S. Collegiate finals.

L-U went undefeated at the tournament in Columbus, Ohio.

This was the first year in U.S. competition for the Thunderwolves.

Red Lake’s Sarah Dodic and Sioux Lookout’s Sydnee Lawrence were also a key part of the gold medal performance for the Lakehead.
