A big weekend for the Kenora ‘AAA’ Thistles.
The Thistles moved up the standings in the Manitoba Midget Hockey League with a pair of one goal wins over the Pembina Valley Hawks.
The Thistles shaded the Hawks 6-5 in a shootout Sunday afternoon, following a 5-4 win Saturday.
Hunter Buzzi of Ignace led the two game sweep with four goals and two assists.
Dryden’s Matthew Pitchenese added four assists, while Sam Brunton also had a helper.
The four points propelled Kenora into a seventh place tie in the standings, only three points back of Pembina Valley.
