The use of a spike belt in the Dryden and Ignace areas couldn’t stop an Edmonton, Alberta man from a wild ride.
Provincial Police were contacted last Friday morning of a car passing unsafely and driving well above the speed limit.
OPP learned the vehicle was stolen but couldn’t stop the driver.
Officers eventually found the car parked on the shoulder of Highway 17, about 65-kilometres east of Ignace, and the driver was arrested.
OPP say 35-year-old Hans Thomas faces a total of 12-charges including flight from police and racing a motor vehicle.
