Some new numbers regarding the make-up of northwestern Ontario.
Statistics Canada estimates over 239,000 called the region home in 2017, a 1.6% increase over the year before.
That is still down about almost a percent from 2012.
Eighteen percent are seniors, 65 and older.
Almost 1% are children 14-and-under, the largest proportion anywhere in Ontario.
We have gotten older though.
The average age is almost 42, up almost two years from 2016.
