Local Reaction on Indian Act

The Deputy Grand Chief of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation in Northwestern Ontario is less then impressed with proposed changes to the Indian Act.
Raymond Ferris says Indian Affairs Minister Bob Nault failed to listen to natives before proposing changes to the law.
Ferris says the Indian Act was flawed from the beginning and should be thrown in the garbage.
He adds the Kenora-Rainy River MP should sit back down with native leaders until a mutual agreement is reached.
